Translation is so much more than just saying the same thing in another language. Context is key. But to understand context you must be aware of the target audience's culture, not only the language. You must also be flexible and creative. Literality can be a translator's worst enemy, and to avoid falling in its traps you must review your work over and over and adapt to what feels natural for the target audience.
